Sea Captain, 2011
From late last year. Absolutely nothing to say about it.
Timothy Carey, 2010
From a recently finished sketchbook. The ticket stubs were from Anthology Film Archives’ World’s Greatest Sinner/Tweet’s Ladies Of Pasadena double feature.

Stef Watching TV, 2010
Drawn just last night, while we were both feeling kind of sick. We were watching season one of Kids In The Hall. Really gotta get the rest of that show on DVD. The first season is great and all, but it hasn’t quite plunged off the deep end yet.

Charles Whitman, 2006
Charles Whitman was, of course, the 1966 University of Texas bell tower sniper. This particular piece started as a pointillist sketchbook drawing, based on a widely circulated yearbook-style photograph of Whitman. The drawing was then blown up onto a transparency via photocopier. And then the transparency was used to create a series of five tricolored silkscreens.
Side bar: I really love Peter Bogdanovich’s 1968 debut feature Targets, which is based on the Whitman massacre. Kind of feel like rewatching it as I type this…
